Initial Thoughts:

Now that the 2020 Draft is over for the Jaguars. How well did I think Caldwell and Co. draft? Ultimately I think they drafted above average in the early rounds, and pretty poorly in the late rounds. CJ Henderson was the top pick. He's an elite cornerback from Florida. He excels very well in man to man coverage. He will step in and have instant success. The only negative by scouts is his ability to tackle. I think Henderson is more than a willing tackler, but let's be honest if Tackling is the only thing that comes up as a negative than we've selected a damn good corner. The glaring problem I have with this draft is the overwhelming confidence this Front Office has in the offense that is not very good. After averaging only 18 Points Per Game last season which was 26th in the league, and handing the offense over to Gardner Minshew you would think you would surround the offense with more talent to help with that. Spending 7 out of the 12 picks on defense was something I wasn't expecting.
The second thing I noticed, is the personnel that they drafted on the defensive side of the ball that fits more of the 3-4 scheme that the Jaguars are supposedly switching to. Preferably I wished the Jaguars would've addressed the Running Back position.  We are in the stone age with that position group. Ryquell Armstead and Leonard Fournette are physical runners that lack true receiving skills. More speed and receiving skills is something I wish the Jags would address with this position group. The last big thing I noticed was the high character players the Jags drafted in this draft class. The rumors of locker room turmoil and the problems between Ramsey and Ngakoue and Front Office management, may have management passing up some of the more talented players in the draft for players with high character and no off the field issues. All in all I will give this draft class a C-. They addressed some needs, but not enough to help in the win column. Maybe that's a good thing as "Tank for Trevor" (Lawrence) begins.

Draft Pick  That Can Be A Surprise: Shaq Quarterman
I think Quarterman can be a glue guy for this roster. Someone that is known for his exceptional leadership and toughness. Never missing a game while playing LB at the University of Miami.  I do believe he can help sure up the run defense as he's a legit run stopper playing tackle to tackle. If he can keep up athletically, he will be in the league for a long time.

Drat Pick with most upside: K'Lavon Chaisson and Ben Bartch
Chaisson battled injuries in college and doesn't have a lot of college production, but with elite speed and athleticism he can become a premier pass rusher for the Jags. If he develops elite pass rush moves to pair with the speed he has he will be a homerun of a draft pick for the Jags.

Ben Bartch is from a small D3 school in Minnesota. He has a lot of potential good technique. I think the biggest key to why I think he has a lot of upside is because, he will now get into a legit strength program. That should definitely help him out. The Tight End background shows his athleticism.  If Bartch can put it all together he can be a good addition to the offensive line group.

Draft Pick that is most intriguing: Chris Claybrooks
The reason I'm intrigued by Claybrooks is not for the defensive back help, but for his ability to be a special team ace for the Jaguars. Particularly in the return game, Claybrooks has elite top end speed. Runs the 40 in the high 4.2 - low 4.3 range. Per Football Outsiders, Jaguars Average Field Position was their own 25, which was dead last in the NFL. If he can be at least above average in the return game, and give the Jags better field position he would be worth the pick.
